Welcome to our new home

Not quite a home yet as we need to move... for now we call it the house and where we live is our home.

Welcome!  We will close the front door to keep the warmth in.
Yes this is the push panel on the inside door (probably a newer addition) and the older hardware.
The parson's bench, a nice place to sit and take off your shoes.
Yes, your eyes are drawn upwards to the 10 foot ceilings with their crown molding.

First let us head into the kitchen and put on the kettle.

(We are going to swap the range for the one in our home.)

From here we will head to the dinning room.
As we turn right to head past the front door into the living room.
You noticed the doors to the library.  Although the fireplaces are wood burning the house is too old for us to use them so we will eventually change them to gas fires.

(There is a picture missing, sorry I forgot to show you the ceiling in this room.)
Not much to see other than a lot of wires, this has been used as an office but I believe we shall use it as our games room and set up our Wii to use here.

And of course the Ceiling

I'm sorry we have no chairs or table to sit and have that cup of tea.   There is one other room on the main floor.  When the house was built it would have been the breakfast room it is now a bathroom.

You may have noticed that the old radiators have been replaced in some of the rooms.
And of course what would a bathroom be if it didn't have a fireplace!

That is correct, when they changed the room to a bathroom with  a sunken jet tub the fireplace was kept.

So there you have our main floor, I'm so sorry there isn't time to see upstairs but come again soon and we will tour the upstairs.

Oh I'm sorry, I see the Parson has found the parson's bench!

Thank you for visiting.  The door knocker worked great so please feel free to use it again.

Surpise Delivery

Thursday was my birthday.  As a rule I don't have anyone come to the office and ask for me.  I have a couple of clients that have brought more information but that's part of the job.

On Thursday I had two surprises, first Marg from church stopped by and gave me a bunch of daffodils for my birthday.  Each year she says this is the last year she will be doing the Cancer Daffodil project, but once again this year she took it on and while delivering to those businesses that had ordered daffodils she brought me a bunch.  That was such a lovely surprise.  Then I had another delivery, Sylvia brought it down to  my office and said "I think you have a delivery from your husband."  but it wasn't from Richard but from my son Ian.

Aren't they lovely.  I left them in my office and brought them home yesterday and they are now gracing our dinning room table.

The daffodils are beginning to open and are in with the flowers that Richard gave me on Tuesday and they are on the jam cupboard.

Now for a look at our new home...

Oops... sorry that's the garage!

You have arrived at the front (that's if you arrive by car)

Oh no... this isn't the house either it's the garden shed!

(I really wanted to show the mound of snow by the side of the garage)

Now this is the house!

As you walk up the path to the front door this is what you see.

And I have to show you a closer view of that inviting door!

If you don't want to use the bell you can always use the knocker.

I can't wait until the warm weather is here; so I can refinish the door bringing it back to it's former glory.

Keep watching that door will open soon!

Living Room & Dinning Room Staged

So I have finally managed to get pictures of the last two rooms of our home before we messed them up again.

 Looking into the dinning room

The other side looking towards the fireplace

This is where we spend our evenings and where our babies spend their day

Here is another view of the kitchen and pictures of the basement now it's fixed up and cleaned.

The other side of the kitchen

The next lot of pictures are of the basement.

 Laundry Room and tool collection

 Cleaned up furnace room

Our main storage area in basement

 The Pantry

The basement stairs clean and tidy

So that it is our home when we know a realtor is bringing someone to view.  It took about a month to get it looking this good and is a lot of work keeping it this way.

We have purchased our new home and I have pictures to post for you to see... we have 90 DAYS not months to sell or we loose the option to roll over the mortgage into the new one without a large penalty.
